DIY Camel Top Trunk Tray

Hello everyone!

Last night I shared our steamer trunk rehab! I was so excited to find such an old trunk with so much character and for a great price that I didn't even consider how I was going to make a camel-back trunk function as a coffee table. I refinished the trunk, moved it into our living room,and then had several people ask how I was going to be able to use it with the curved top. So I googled and pinterested and etsy-ed, and found nothing! No articles or tips or magic trays to fit the top of a curved trunk. So I grabbed my trusty hot glue gun and decided to wing it!

I broke out my hardware stash thinking I could use something as legs to help a tray balance on top.
I measured how far apart to attach the legs to make sure it was even and level.
I marked the area with chalk.
And tested to make sure it would {hopefully} work.
And roughly five minutes later...

I may give the knob/legs a coat of oil rubbed bronze spray paint so they don't stand out so much.

Now my steamer trunk coffee table is beautiful and functional!
{And the best part is the trunk and the tray cost less than $50 total!}

Thanks for stopping by!
