Doodle's Favorite Raviolis

So, this recipe is an adaption from an old cookbook my mother had.
{Of course I had to my own Brew twists}

Your favorite raviolis (frozen or fresh)
2T butter
3 cloves garlic
28oz Italian style tomatoes and juices
1 1/2 c heavy cream
1lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
1T dried basil
6 large fresh basil leaves
Fresh cracked black pepper to taste

Start by melting the butter in a large skillet and then add your minced garlic
Once golden {and smelling like an Italian bistro},
add the tomatoes - crush the tomatoes in your hand to get out all the juices.

Stir together with garlic, break large pieces with side of spoon, and simmer about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, add your cream to a small pan.
Bring to a low boil and reduce by half, stirring frequently.

Once reduced, add the cream to the tomato mixture.
At this point add the dried basil and black pepper.
Stir together and simmer about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot to a boil and cook raviolis.
In the last 2 minutes, add the shrimp to the sauce.
{They will only take about 2 minutes to cook!}

The last step to the sauce is to chop up the fresh basil and add to sauce.
Remove from heat.

Drain your ravioli, plate, and add the sauce.
{Be careful! Very rich - a little goes a long way}

And ta da! Happy Doodles!

 If you play your cards right, you can probably sneak away later to your guitar!

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!
