Fall Mantel and Fireplace Makeover

 I could not wait to get to the hideous paint job on our fireplace.

1992 call.
It wants its brass fixtures and sponge paint back.

Much Better!
 I'm in love with this color.
 It's Sterling By Behr in the Paint and Primer in One.
Two coats covered that ugly red sponge job.
And the trim got a coat of bargain markdown Sherwin Williams Semi-gloss.
The paint on the brick was peeling off so I stripped it back to brick.
I may whitewash it at some point in the future.
And that awful brass fireplace cover had to go.
{Brews face when I pried it off the fireplace was priceless}

And then came my favorite part.
{The Decorating.}
I really love using natural elements that have a fall feel without having to resort to pumpkins
I love pumpkins and gourds and I can't say I won't add some pumpkins in a few weeks but for now I wanted fall {minus} pumpkins.

 Everything on this mantel was decor we already had around the house or packed up in the basement.
Except the wreath.
I am hoping to share a little about the wreath sometime this week.
I'm loving our fall mantel.
I can't wait to decorate it for every season!
